I moved to Orlando 8 years ago, and I am researching the buildings and architects of the area, I thought it would be interesting to look back 10 years and see what buildings were honored in 2004 by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and share them with you.
One of 2004’s award winning designs was the City of Bartow Municipal Center. It received the AWARD OF MERIT in the Governmental Category, designed by Architects Design Group, Inc., Winter Park, Florida.
The departments are organized in separate buildings, organized around a central parking area. The required retention is located as a water feature along the street out front.
The jury commented: “Conceptually clear, its beauty is in its simplicity. Strong concept for project type.”
Architects Design Group specializes in the design of Emergency Operations and Communications Facilities and is committed to enhancing the Public Safety community’s ability to provide first class facilities to its citizens.
