BOK TOWERS Garden

Bok Tower Gardens is breaking ground on the largest expansion in its 85-year history.

The elements planned include a children’s garden, an outdoor kitchen with edible garden, a wild garden and the Oval Lawn with Pollinator Garden. Three undeveloped acres of land north of the current Visitor Center will be used to create the children’s garden and outdoor kitchen. The expansion, expected to be complete by late spring of 2016, also will feature restoration work on the tower, including removal of rust, sealing and painting the structure’s tile grilles that surround the bell chamber. That work will begin in summer 2015. A gentle grade to a walkway and special-event lawn behind the Visitor Center will guide guests to the tower, Pinewood Estate and the new expansion gardens to the north.
