Architects Design Group of Winter Park with Rhodes and Brito architects of Orlando have released their design for the new Orlando Police Department Headquarters slated for a site on Orange Blossom Trail. Orlando Magic have a planned development to take over the current site downtown next to Amway Center.
The new clean modern design features a broad overhanging sun shade. A currently popular design feature, it is useful to reduce the amount of sunlight heating the interior of our air conditioned buildings, saving energy costs. And the roof is covered with solar panels.
Other firms involved in the project are: H.G. High Construction Co., Orlando, design-builder; ; WBQ Design and Engineering, Orlando; Milan Engineering, Winter Park; Bellomo Herbert, Longwood, landscape architect; Southeastern Surveyor, Orlando; TLC Engineering, Orlando
