Sponsored by the Florida Foundation for Architecture, this year’s Peoples’ Choice Award contest has 58 buildings from which to chose. Here is a list of the buildings in our area of Florida:
There are 2 buildings submitted by the Brevard County Space Coast Chapter of the AIA. Space Shuttle Atlantis Exhibit, Kennedy Space Center Complex, and the Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral.
There are 8 buildings in the Orlando Area: Amway Arena and Geico Garage just south of the Amway Arena. Edgewater High school, FH Nicholson Center for Surgical Advancement at Florida Hospital Celebration, Adventist Health System Corporate Headquarters in Maitland, University of Florida Research and Academic Center at Lake Nona, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Valencia College VC/UCF Joint Use Building in Metro West.
Jim W. Henderson Administration & Welcome Center, built in 2012 by Gresham Smith & Partners, is in Daytona Beach.
